Some Of My Favorite London Attractions

I don’t know about you, but I really fancy some specific things when I go on vacation.  I must say, that I’m not really a roller coaster sort of vacationer, but I do like to visit lots of historic places, and I’m especially big on architecture.  Just about any old city in Europe has plenty of that, and London is no exception.  London attractions are plentiful to be sure.  The trick for me is narrowing it down to just a few.

Big Ben and the parliament buildings are one of my favorite.  They’re definitely steeped in history, and have some amazing Gothic architecture going on there.  If you are going to visit, your going to want to do some pre-planning.  It can get pretty busy during during prime tourist which happens to run during the summer.  If you can go at all during off hours it may make your visit a much more pleasant experience.

Big Ben is also a popular attraction with the tourists.  To me, it’s like one of the original gadgets.  Sure it’s old, and there’s no way it’s going to fit in your pocket, but I love learning about how it was built and how it works.  It really is a remarkable piece of engineering, and it’s not the kind of thing that they build these days.  It may also have something to do with my fascination time pieces.  Don’t even ask how many wrist watches I own.

  1. If you like architecture then you can’t beat the palaces in London, but I agree the Gothic architecture used on Parliment and Big Ben are among the worlds best examples I have seen.
